"Until
Tomorrow" is a dazzling blend of standard
and contemporary jazz that once again features Sean
Bray (as producer, arranger and leader) along with
several top-notch Canadian jazz players. Splitting
the acoustic bass duties are two acclaimed, but divergent
players: Artie Roth and Jim Vivian. Also sharing the
spotlight are two highly-in-demand drummers Barry
Romberg and Ted Warren. Special guests include popular
Boston-based vibraphonist Matthias Lupri and celebrated
saxophone player Mike Murley (of Metalwood
fame).
This
CD features several
original compositions (penned by Bray and Wolfe) as well as fresh interpretations of classics
like Detour Ahead, Alone Together, Don't Go To
Strangers,
What Is This Thing Called Love, Day By Day and
When
You Wish Upon A Star.
"I'm real excited about this new album..."
says Wolfe. "It's an exciting time for Canadian
jazz artists and it's important for me to get out
there and expand my audience." Wolfe also adds,
"I'm in a more laid back space these days and
I've learned to trust the moment of creation in jazz
that
trading of energy when you work with great players.
There's nothing like it!"
